Fat transfer surgery has grown dramatically in popularity in the last few years. You might have heard of it by its other popular names, fat grafting or fat injections. Many times where fillers or traditional augmentation would be used, fat can actually be used instead. In cases where a traditional filler would be used to correct wrinkles, fat could be transferred instead. Essentially, fat is removed (using liposuction) from an area of the body where you have unwanted fat. It is then, transferred to and injected into the area needing a filler. This allows for both a decrease in excess fat and the filling of wrinkles. By using fat vs a traditional filler, you can get the desired result without the need for follow-up maintenance treatments that are required with filler products. Fat transfers also offer a much more natural alternative to implants for augmenting parts of the body. This includes common areas like breasts and buttocks. The surgery itself takes a bit longer to perform but the results are permanent and natural.
