Fat transfer surgery has grown dramatically in popularity in the last few years. You might have heard of it by its other popular names, fat grafting or fat injections. In many cases where fillers or traditional augmentation would be utilized, fat can actually be utilized instead. In cases when a traditional filler would be used to correct wrinkles, fat could be transferred instead. Basically, fat is removed (using liposuction) from an area of the body where you have extra fat. It is then, transferred to and injected into the area requiring a filler. This allows for both a decrease in unwanted fat and the filling of wrinkles and creases. The benefits of this are not merely the fact that you removed unwanted fat …but, because fat was utilized instead of traditional fillers, there aren’t any ongoing maintenance treatments. Fat transfers also offer a much more natural alternative to implants for augmenting parts of the body. This includes common areas like breasts and buttocks. The procedure itself takes a bit longer to perform but the outcome is permanent and natural.
